MISSION STATEMENT
Parents United for Responsible Educational Reform ("PURE Reform") is an organization dedicated to working cooperatively and constructively with the Pittsburgh Public School District to improve our schools and the reform process.
PURE Reform grew out of the movement to keep Schenley High School. All along, many parents had questions and concerns about high school reform in general, including concerns about high schools needing the most improvement but which had not been a focus of reform efforts.
The mission of PURE Reform is to unite Pittsburgh parents from all backgrounds and from all neighborhoods in seeking for every child the education necessary to lead a productive and meaningful life. As part of this mission we seek transparency and effective stakeholder input in the reform process. When appropriate we question the administration's proposals and practices. When the district's initiatives are working, we share that information as well.
